Jansen and Powell Join LBG02/06/2014
Dr. Jansen has more than 20 year of experience in groundwater resource management for water supply, mining, and energy projects. He will be managing a variety of groundwater resource, geophysical, alternate energy, and mining projects around the U.S. for LBG. Prior to joining LBG, he was the Central Region Water Practice Lead and Principal for a national consulting firm, responsible for strategic planning for the groundwater, geophysics, and mining practice areas nationally. A Professional Geologist in seven states, he holds three patents for water well technologies. Dr. Jansen received a PhD in geological sciences as well as MS and BS degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He previously served on the board of directors of the association of Ground Water Scientist and Engineers and was the National Groundwater Association’s (NGWA) representative for the Advisory Council on Water Information (a Congressionally Appointed Federal Advisory Committee). He also served as a member of the board of directors of the Environmental and Engineering Geophysical Society.
Mr. Powell has more than 20 years of experience as a hydrogeologist/geoscientist in the water supply and environmental industry. His areas of expertise include water supply and water resource investigations; wellhead protection planning; aquifer testing, design and analysis; geophysical studies; well design; and contamination assessments. Prior to joining LBG, he was a senior hydrogeologist for a civil engineering firm in Wisconsin, providing consulting services for water resource and supply investigations throughout the Midwest, Nevada and California. A licensed Professional Geologist in Wisconsin and Illinois, Mr. Powell received an M.S. degree in earth science from Western Michigan University and a B.S. in geology from Lake Superior State University.
Both John and Ted will be based in the greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin area.
